<span style="color: black;">This article deals with the issue of divorce in Islam, because this </span><span style="color: black;">issue
 is a burning issue in India now. It is a hot issue in India as the 
triple instant divorce was ruled as unconstitutional by a bench of 
judges in Supreme Court. And this is why this article has been prepared 
in this time particularly.</span></h4>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<b><span style="color: teal;">The Meaning of Talaq (Divorce) literally and in Terminology</span></b></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<i>Talaq</i> (Divorce) in the Arabic language in general refers to abandoning, setting free or releasing.<br />
However, in Islamic jurisprudential term, <i>talaq</i> means termination of the bond of marriage with a specific word by the husband. In other words, <i>talaq</i> is ending the legitimacy of sexual intercourse between husband and wife.</h4>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<b><span style="color: teal;">What is Talaq (Divorce)?</span></b></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: black;">The verdict of Islamic
 Jurisprudence about divorce might be weird to some Muslims and 
non-Muslims in general when they will hear for the first time that if a 
Muslim husband says to his wife: “you are divorced” or “I have divorced 
you” or other phrases that have been assigned for divorce in Arabic or 
other languages of the world, the divorce becomes effective instantly, 
even if the husband has just pronounced the word to joke or laugh. This 
is the ruling in Islamic jurisprudence regarding pronouncing the phrase,
 irrespective of the fact that the husband said the word in the presence
 of his wife or in her absence or there was any witness or not, in all 
cases the phrase of divorce becomes effective. However, they may need to
 authenticate in a written form with the related official authorities. 
Once, the husband has uttered the phrases of divorce the couple becomes 
strange to each other and the blessed marriage relation is broken, and 
it is useless to say then:” I did not know the ruling,” “I did not mean 
it,” or “I love my wife.” Suppose, if both are living with each other as
 husband and wife after the divorce, they will be regarded as sinners in
 Islamic Shari`ah. If the divorce is revocable, the husband has the 
right to bring her back to the bond of marriage during the period of </span>Iddah (waiting time for women after divorce). If the period of <span style="color: black;">`Iddah
 elapses, the only legal way for them is to make a new marriage 
agreement with a new marriage gift to her with new witnesses. However, 
if the divorce has been made thrice, the wife will not be allowed to 
return to the same man again unless she gets married with another man by
 her free will and after that she </span><span style="color: black;">again </span><span style="color: black;"> is divorced by her new husband by his free will without prior agreement. By then, she can return to her first man with new marriage.</span></h4>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<b><span style="color: teal;">Divorce is like a Knife</span></b></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: black;">Divorce in Islam is like a knife that 
is used for kitchen purposes, and when it is used in good things it is 
good and useful, but sometimes the knife falls into the hand of a 
criminal who uses it to kill an innocent person and at that time the 
usage is evil and harmful.</span><br />
<span style="color: black;">If a husband uses the right of divorce to 
terminate the marriage relationship when the life of the couple becomes 
unbearable hell, and the continuation of life together as husband and 
wife becomes impossible for some true reason, like constant quarrel, 
infertility of one of the spouses or they do not want to stay together, 
at this time the divorce is a normal and becomes an important treatment 
of the problem. And if the right of divorce was used, at this time, it 
is surely good and beneficial. But, when the right of divorce is used to
 harass a woman or humiliate her or to cut the marital relationship 
without a valid and reasonable cause, then undoubtedly it is an evil act
 and harmful thing. </span><br />
<span style="color: black;">Divorce in Islamic law is a very serious 
issue. In fact, the option of divorce reflects the true inclination of 
Islam for solving some important problems in marital life.</span></h4>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: teal;"><b>Divorce via Telephone and Text messages</b> </span></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: black;">As all financial contracts and 
transactions are carried out through modern means, the same the divorce 
is effective through all means of modern social communication, through 
letters, text messages, telephone, email, etc.</span></h4>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<b><span style="color: teal;">Minimum and Maximum Number of Divorces</span></b></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: black;">According to Islamic Shari`ah, the 
maximum number of divorces is three, the minimum is one. In addition, 
the divorce is of three categories; the first, the divorce that gives 
both the right of returning to each other with their personal and 
individual reconciliation and this is called in Islamic jurisprudence “<i>Raj`ee Talaq</i>” (revocable). The second is <i>“Talaq Ba’in sughra” </i>(semi-irrevocable)
 when the divorce takes place and the days of `iddah ends without 
returning the wife. In this case, they can make marriage again with new 
marriage contract. The third <i>“Talaq Mughallazah”</i> (irrevocable 
divorce), and this ruling comes when a husband divorces three times. In 
this case, they are not allowed to return to each other even with a new 
marriage, except after she gets married to another man and get divorced 
again. </span><br />
<span style="color: black;">We can liken the divorce in Islam to 
firing with a gun or throwing an arrow which will wound someone or 
something in, whether the archer is serious or just joking, it will 
leave its impact without doubt.</span></h4>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<b><span style="color: teal;">What is <i>Talaq</i> (Divorce) in Islam?</span></b></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: black;">There is another classification of 
divorce in terms of agreeing or violating the teachings of Qur’an and 
Sunnah. From this angle, the divorce is three types: better, good, and 
bad. </span></h4>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<b><span style="color: black;"><span style="color: teal;">The First Category of Divorce</span> </span></b></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: black;">The first category of divorce is that 
which is given by a husband to the wife during her purity from 
menstruation during which they did not have a sexual intercourse and she
 is left until her three periods are finished and now they became 
strange to each other.</span></h4>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<b><span style="color: black;"><span style="color: teal;">The Second Category of Divorce</span> </span></b></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: black;">The second is the good and this is when
 a husband divorces his wife thrice distributed on three periods, each 
divorce on each period of purity from her menstruation. </span></h4>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<b><span style="color: teal;">The Third Category of Divorce  </span></b></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: black;"> The third is the bad or heretical one 
which this applies when a husband divorces his wife randomly three 
divorces in one phrase, such as: “Three divorces are to you” or “I 
divorce you the three divorces”. And the question is if a husband 
divorces his wife the three divorces in one word or on the bad way what 
is the ruling? Is the divorce effective or not, will the divorce be 
counted or not. In this regard, the four authentic schools of Islamic 
jurisprudence view that the divorce is effective and the wife and 
husband become strange to each other, however, the husband is sinner and
 violator the tradition of the Prophet (peace be upon him).</span></h4>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<b><span style="color: teal;">Different Schools of Islamic Jurisprudence on the Instant Triple Talaq </span></b></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: black;">It is worth-mentioning that the instant
 triple talaq is a disputed issue amongst the Muslim jurists. And there 
is more than one opinion in this subject.<br />
One of the opinions says that the way of divorce is deifying the 
instruction of Islamic Shari`ah, therefore, the instant triple talaq is 
nothing, fruitless and useless and no divorce will happen. This view has
 been attributed to some Tabi`een or the students of the companions of 
the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).<br />
In addition, there is another opinion that concludes that in the case of
 instant triple talaq only one divorce will occur and the spouses can 
reconcile with each other and they will remain husband and wife. And 
this conclusion has been attributed to Ibn Taymiyah (1263- 1328 A.D.) 
and his pupil Ibn al-Qayyim((1292–1350 A.D.) the famous and great 
scholars of Islam.<br />
Nevertheless, the issue of talaq (divorce) belongs to the Muslims, and 
the ruling is one of the Islamic personal laws of the Muslim family, so 
it is unreasonable to intervene in this matter by any party except the 
Muslim scholars and jurists.</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: black;">It is noteworthy that this is the issue the Indian bench of judges has regarded as unconstitutional. The triple <i>talaq</i> or instant <i>talaq</i> in Islam is a burning issue in India.</span></h4>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<b><span style="color: teal;">The Right of Divorce for Woman</span></b></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: black;">It is noteworthy that a wife also has the right of separation from her husband which is called in Islamic jurisprudence <i>“Khul`a”</i>. So <i>Khul`a</i> is not instant but it is a procedure through which a woman can divorce her husband. In Islam, the right of <i>khula`</i>
 for a wife refutes the claim of some people who think that a wife has 
no right to divorce even if she is not happy with her husband or if 
there is an irremediable marital problem. Divorce in Islam is like a 
bitter medicine or surgery, which is used only when it is necessary. 
However, some Muslims now use divorce as the food, not like the medicine
 and this is the real problem. As well as, the divorce is the most 
detest thing to Allah the Almighty. Allah has permitted for divorce but 
that does not mean that it is something pleasant to Allah and the 
Messenger (peace be upon him).</span></h4>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<b><span style="color: teal;">Divorce in Hinduism</span></b></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: black;">In this context, it is necessary to refer to the idea of divorce in Hinduism.
 In fact, the ancient Hindu literature does not have the concept of 
divorce as well as the Sanskrit and Hindi language is void of the word 
of talaq or divorce. The word talaq in Hindi now has been borrowed from 
Arabic and Urdu. According to Hinduism, if her husband dies, she must 
burn herself with her husband’s dead body and this is called Sati. On 
the other hand, some Hindu commentators think that the burning in Sati 
tradition is metaphor that means a widow has to burn her desires in life
 totally. If she lives, lives like a dead, her eating must be simple 
away from pleasure and her dress must be free of adornment, as it is not
 permissible for her to marry a second marriage. Additionally a wife may
 establish a sexual relationship with a foreign man to obtain children 
if her husband is barren and this is called <i>Neog</i> and the type 
of sexual intercourse is permissible, rather a meritorious action. 
However, there is a clear change in the tradition of Sati and in the 
prohibition of second marriage for a woman specially after the advent of
 Islam to the Indian subcontinent.</span></h4>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<b><span style="color: teal;">What is <i>Halalah</i> in Islam?</span></b></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: black;"><i>Halalah</i> is the second marriage
 of a woman who was divorced three divorces from her husband and became 
strange to him and both became separated. After that the woman was 
married to another man with her choice and free will but by chance the 
second marriage was also unsuccessful and ended on divorce, then the 
divorced woman after waiting three periods is allowed to return to first
 husband through a new marriage. The marriage of the divorcee with 
another man without prior agreement for divorce is called <i>Halalah</i> (permission) because this marriage if divorce follows is permission for her to return to the first Husband.</span></h4>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<b><span style="color: teal;">Is <i>Halalah</i> Permissible in Islam?</span></b></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: black;">The scholars of Islam view that 
marriage for a fixed time or temporary marriage is prohibited and 
against the Islamic law, and if any person marries for definite period, 
or intends to become a mediator and justification for her return to the 
first husband -as sometimes happens in Muslim families in India- is not 
permissible in Islam, rather, this act causes the anger of Allah the 
Almighty and everyone who conducts or officiates such marriages deserves
 curse from Allah the Almighty.</span></h4>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<b><span style="color: black;"><span style="color: teal;">Conclusion</span></span></b></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: black;"> The issue of instant triple <i>talaq</i>
 (divorce) is surely contrary to the spirit of Islamic law. The husband 
who gives three divorces in one word in one sitting is sinful and 
blameworthy before Allah the Almighty, because he violated the divine guidance and the command of the Prophet Muhammad
 (peace be upon him) although the divorce is effective. If a person 
utters foul word or insulting phrase the word will hurt the addressee 
who will be angry once the word is heard and the excuse of ignorance and
 forgetfulness will not work. It is recommended for the girls and boys 
who are ready for marriage to study the issues of divorce and marriage,
 rights and duties, because this will help to continue the marital 
relationship and avoid the family problems. The solution is not to 
cancel the triple instant divorces, if people began violating the 
traffic rules we will not abolish the traffic rules rather we will try 
to make people aware of the rules.</span></h4>

In the Hindu Religion, taking “bath” is 
considered the most important daily ritual. “Bathing” is defined in 
almost all Vedas, Upanishads, Suthras, etc. in many ways. The early 
morning is considered the most auspicious time in the Hindu Religion. It
 is known as “Pratha Kala” or “Brahma Muhoortham” or the most auspicious
 time. Most of the “Rishis” (Saints) in Olden days used to take bath in 
this hour and attained the sainthood.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
The Vedas and Upanishads further advise 
the Married people to take bath twice daily and insist Saints for 
bathing thrice a day. However, the bachelor is allowed to bathe once a 
day.</h4>

Brahmins Chattaris have to take bath 
three times every day. The first is in the morning since the light of 
morning begins to appear until the sun rises. The second is in the 
middle of the day, when the sun becomes in the middle of the sky. The 
third is in the evening, the time of this bath begins one hour before 
the sunset and ends when the sun sets. If a person missed the last bath,
 he has to make an ablution by pouring some drops of water on his head 
while reciting the prescribed prayer.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
In addition, there are three types of bath in Hinduism that are regarded causes of blessing and success.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<b>Goumaya Bath:</b> Goumaya 
bath refers to a bath amongst Hindus with cow dung. They should take 
some cow dung and rub it on the body this is called Goumaya bath. The 
dung of the mother cow is considered an abode for Lakshmi (blessing).</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<b>Panchagavya Bath</b>: This 
type of bath refers to a bath is taken by Hindus with five things come 
from the cow; like; cow dung, cow urine, cow milk,  yogurt of cow milk, 
ghee and cream of cow milk.  The bath which is taken with all these five
 products of cow is called Panchagavya Bath. This bath has many 
spiritual, religious and medical benefits according to Hindu faith.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<b>Wayvya Bath:</b> This type 
of bath refers to a special bath according to Hindu religion. The bath 
includes usage of sand touched by the hoof of a cow. The method of this 
bath is that a Hindu takes the soil beneath the cow’s hoof and dissolves
 it in the water and then rubs it on the body.<sup>(1) </sup></h4>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #bf9000;">Bathing in Ganges River </span></h2>

During the Kumbhmela at Prayag Raj 
(Allahabad) millions of Hindus from all parts of India take a dip in the
 Ganga River believing that this act will bring them untold merit. Some 
say that on festival days the water of the Ganga River transforms itself
 into nectar and anyone who bathes in it will erase all his sins. 
Recently, biologists are talking about the contamination of river water 
from industrial effluents and the unhygienic condition of such waters, 
but this has not undermined the belief of people in the magical 
properties of Ganga water<sup>.(2)</sup></h4>

<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #741b47;"><b>Bath before and </b><b>after Sexual Intercourse in Hinduism</b></span></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
Additionally, there is an authentic 
proof on the necessity of bath for husband and wife after intercourse. 
Most of the Hindus view that taking a head-bath after sexual 
relationship is not necessary.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
However, Tantra teaches that a bath 
before sex can enhance pleasure. At times, taking a bath can also be 
associated with the joy of freedom, privacy and understanding the 
passage of time. A cold bath releases negative ions, refreshes the body 
and strengthens psychic forces. Once it was customary for Indians to 
wash their hands and feet before entering their homes, but modernization
 has made such rituals rather difficult to sustain.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
According to Manu Shastr, taking bath is necessary for a person who had sexual intercourse with a woman.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
Manu Shastr says: “Bathing is prescribed for him who has had intercourse with a woman.”<sup>(3)</sup></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
This ruling is similar to the Islamic 
ruling mentioned in Islamic jurisprudence. In Islam, taking bath after 
sexual intercourse is compulsory specially when a person intends to do 
some compulsory worship, like; prayer, entering the mosque or touching 
the Glorious Qur’an. However, there are many exceptions in this issue, 
specially, when a person is out of water or fears of harms on his 
health. In these situations, a person can do <i>tayammum</i> or dry 
ablution and bath that is to put both palms of the hands on pure earth 
or sand and to wipe the face and both arms thus he becomes pure. The 
Glorious Qur’an says:</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
 <b>And if you are ill, or on a 
journey, or one of you comes after answering the call of nature, or you 
have been in contact with women (by sexual relations) and you find no 
water, perform <i>tayammum</i> with clean earth and rub therewith your faces and hands (<i>tayammum</i>). </b>(An-Nisa’4:43)</h4>

<span style="color: #0b5394;"><b>What is <i>Tayammum</i>? </b></span></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<i>Tayammum</i> means to put the hands
 on the earth and then pass the palm of each on the back of the other 
and then blow off the dust from them and then pass (rub) them on the 
face, this is called in Islamic jurisprudence <i>tayammum</i>.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<i>Tayammum</i> is one of the merits 
and distinctions of the Islamic Shari`ah. We do not find anything 
similar to this in Hinduism. Purification through <i>tayammum</i> is a
 manifestation of divine mercy on the human-being. What will a patient 
do if the usage of water harms him? What will a person do if he does not
 have water? In such situations, a person can do <i>tayammum</i> and can perform whatever worship he wants.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
There is a bath after some situations and conditions, that is called “Nimittika Shnan”.</h4>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #b45f06;"><b>What is Nimittika Shnan?</b></span></h2>

Nimittika Shnan is performed after 
completion of certain types of situations like after eclipse, vomiting, 
haircutting, bad dreams, sex, touching bones, visiting cemetery, 
touching women after pregnancy, touching women at the time of menstrual 
period, touching a dead person.<sup>(4)</sup></h4>

<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: blue;"><sup> </sup><b>Bath during Kumbh Mela </b></span></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
Hindus men and women gather to dive in 
Ganges River on the occasion of Kumbh Mela, where Naga Babas attend this
 feast while they are totally naked. Their pictures and videos are 
available online. But Islam is completely free of such a tradition that 
brings men and women in this impudent manner. This type of tradition 
cannot be a source of purity; rather a source of impurity if we judge on
 the basis of free logic and philosophy.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
The system of worship and purification 
in Islam is unique and distinctive through many aspects: religious, 
spiritual, physical and medical.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
This includes the prayer, fasting, hajj, zakah, and charity. The system of purification for the prayer, like; taking bath after <i>janabah</i>, and <i>wudu’</i> for the prayer or reciting the Glorious Qur’an is a complete system in Islam.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
If there is no water or water is harmful for a person, he can make <i>tayammum</i> instead of <i>wudu’</i> and bath.</h4>

<span style="color: red;"><b>Conclusion</b></span></h2>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
After presenting and studying the 
religious and philosophical views and rulings on the purification, 
ritual bath and ablution in Hinduism and Islam, and come up with the 
following results:</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
(1) Hinduism regards a menstruating 
woman as impure and everything touched by her during the period as 
impure. However, in Islam, a menstruating woman is allowed to do all 
types of devotion except for touching the Qur’an, entering the mosque, 
and prayer. And nothing becomes impure by her touching.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
(2) According to Hindu traditions, news 
of birth causes impurity for the relatives just when they receive the 
news in another city. But in Islam, no impurity moves with the news of 
birth, however, a woman after childbirth is allowed to exercise all 
types of devotion except for touching the Qur’an, entering the mosque, 
and prayer. And she can touch everything and nothing will become impure 
by her touching. After forty days, she has to take a bath and after that
 she can perform all types of prayers and devotion.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
(3) In Hindu culture, death of a person 
causes impurity for the whole tribe and relatives from twelve to sixteen
 days. In Islam, there is no impurity caused by the death. However, it 
is obligatory to wash the dead-body before the funeral prayer and 
burial. This is a symbol of honor and respect for the dead-body.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
(4) All types of excreta and feces 
including; cow-dung and cow-urine are impure in Islam. However, cow-dung
 and cow-urine are pure and purifier according to Hinduism, and they are
 a divine gift for Hindus and sometimes they give the cow-excreta more 
importance than its milk. Hindu philosophy is the only philosophy in the
 world that regards animal excreta pure and purifier and  Hindus are the
 only nation in the world that kills human-being to protect (Gau Mata 
or) the mother-cow.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
(5) We did not find any concept of <i>tayammum</i> (or dry purification) in Hinduism, contrary to Islam that has complete philosophy of<i> tayammum</i> (or dry purification) a symbol of mercy and kindness for human-beings especially when they are in dire need. Absence of <i>tayammum</i> causes problems for the person who does not have water or usage of water harms him.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
(6) Both cultures, Hinduism and Islam, 
are equal in prescribing a full bath for the man who had a sexual 
intercourse with a woman, but the text of Manu Shastr is silent about 
the bath for woman. However, in Islam bath is obligatory for both man 
and woman after sexual intercourse when they intend to perform the 
prayer.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
(7) In Hinduism, there is no proper 
method for man and woman for purification after urination. Generally, a 
Hindu man wipes with his dress after urinating. They prefer urinating 
standing as well as they are against the tradition of circumcision. All 
these reasons cause pollution and impurity and create unhealthy 
situations across the country. In India, at train stations especially in
 small towns, people urinate in the corner of the road on the walls and 
urine spots are seen everywhere. It seems as if Hindu brothers do not 
regard human-urine as unclean and impure rather, they regard it pure and
 purifier like the cow-urine.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
But the issue in Islam is an entirely 
different as the purity from urine is a key issue. This purity can be 
achieved by using water, or by wiping with odd numbers of small stones 
or sandy balls that can absorb the drops of urine and other means of 
cleaning and disinfection.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
The Messenger of Allah (May peace of 
Allah and His blessings be upon him) said: “Keep away from urine, for 
verily most of the punishment of the grave is due to it.” (Ad-Daraqutni)</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
(8) Hindus regard bleacher or washerman,
 Dalits and other castes as impure by birth. Their impurity could not be
 removed by any mean; they born impure and they will remain impure 
always. They are not allowed to enter the worship place of upper castes.
 But in Islam, there is no caste system; the real impurity is the 
impurity of wrong faith, bad habits, and hurting others. When a person 
abandons the wrong faith, bad habits and bad actions and decorates 
himself with true faith, good behavior and righteousness he becomes 
equal to his brother in humanity. Bilal Al-Habashi was a slave but when 
he accepted Islam he became equal to the senior companions of the 
Prophet (peace be upon him).</h4>

(9) Perfection in the purification 
system in Islam is one of the proofs that prove the finality of the 
message of Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was sent when
 humanity was in its full maturity. The message of Islam is the last and
 final revelation that cancels and terminates all previous scriptures, 
specially the jurisprudential issues. Every religion of the world 
religions: Judaism, Hinduism and Christianity were changed and altered, 
but Islam represented in the Qur’an has been preserved as it was 
revealed. Nothing of it was changed or altered.</h4>

They told me that these are gods. I asked them: what is the meaning of God? They told me: God is the Creator of all.</h4>

Then I asked them if God created everything, why do you worship the creation instead of the Creator?.”</h4>

beyond then God cannot be an idol and he became sure that God is beyond 
these manmade and worldly things and he hated worshipping idols.</div>

with them in the family house, then I have to forget the name Islam 
forever and must follow Hinduism.</span></h4>

<span style="font-weight: normal;">I said I cannot give up the Islamic way of life and left the home after I got my bachelor’s degree.</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">Since my childhood I used to hear a loud
 sound from a mosque. When I was studying in my college, I came to know 
that the sound was from the mosque of Muslims that is called <i>Adhan</i> call for daily five prayers.”</span></h4>

<span style="font-weight: normal;">One day when I was with my Muslim friend
 and I heard the same sound I told him it is the call for your worship 
so go and worship your idols. He explained for me and told that Muslims 
do not worship idols, they worship only One God.</span></h4>

<span style="font-weight: normal;">I was eager to discover more about the 
Islamic faith and reality of worship so I sat with my Muslim friend and 
started arguing with him about worship.</span></h4>

Muslim friend: According to Islam, God is not like idols as you people worship and he guided him to Islam.</h4>

The brother accepted Islam in the month of fasting; Ramadan, 2014.</h4>

When he took his <i>Shahadah</i>, he was in an amazing feeling he never had before.</h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
According to him, when he performed <i>wudhu’</i>
 for the first time he felt as he was really purified of his sins and he
 felt that there was some light coming on him to protect him. When he 
took his <i>Shahadah</i>, he heard the same <i>Adhan</i> again and realized immediately that it is a call to the worship of Allah the Almighty.</h4>

And he felt that he was more secure, fortified and protected than before by the grace of Allah the Almighty.</h4>

<span style="font-weight: normal;">‘<i>Hayya `ala-s-Salah… Hayya `ala-l-Falah…</i>’ (Hurry to prayer… Hurry to real success…)</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">Yes, success. What perfect placement of these phrases: come to pray 
and take your success. Like macaroni and cheese, it’s plain and simple. 
Placed so cleverly and poetically within the <i>Adhan</i>, (the Islamic call to prayer), we hear this 5 times a day, but how often do we listen and follow?</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">Amidst chow downs, midterms, and movies, finding time to pray for 
youth has become somewhat of a difficult task. Many of us spend 
countless hours engrossed in the latest songs and tabloids, immersed in 
worldly matters or even grueling over a school assignment; those have 
become our priorities in <i>dunya </i>(this world). But, what about our priorities for the <i>akhira</i> (Hereafter)?</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">Nowadays, some of us find it a chore to spend scarcely 5 minutes out 
of the 1440 minutes in a day prostrating to our Lord in repentance for 
our sins and seeking refuge from our worries. We have stopped giving <i>salah </i>(prayer) the importance it holds.</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">Prayer is an obligation, not a choice—as many Muslims these days make it out to be. <i>Salah</i> is one of the things that Allah <i>subhanahu wa ta’ala </i>(Glorified is He) has Himself prescribed; I say prescribed, because it is the one true remedy to our worldly worries.</span></h4>
<h4 style="padding-left: 30px; padding-right: 30px; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;"> Guard strictly the Salah, especially the middle Salah. And stand before Allah with obedience. (Al-Baqarah 2:238)</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">Salah reminds you of Allah (Exalted is He), when you get up in the 
morning, it reminds you three more times when you are busy during the 
day, and once again before you go to bed.</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">There is No Fulfillment for Anyone but Us via this Act</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">Success requires fulfillment, which requires nourishment by the 
purest means. What better nourishment for yourself than the mercy, 
guidance, and rewards from the Almighty? Allah lures us to worship with 
lavish descriptions of <i>Jannah</i> (Paradise), whilst simultaneously warning us of repercussions of disobedience—the wretchedness of hellfire.</span></h4>
<h4 style="padding-left: 30px; padding-right: 30px; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;"> And their 
recompense shall be Paradise, and silken garments, because they were 
patient. Reclining on raised thrones, they will see there neither the 
excessive heat of the sun, nor the excessive bitter cold, (as in 
Paradise there is no sun and no moon). The shade will be close upon 
them, and bunches of fruit will hang low within their reach. Vessels of 
silver and cups of crystal will be passed around amongst them, 
crystal-clear, made of silver. They will determine the measure of them 
according to their wishes. They will be given a cup (of wine) mixed with
 Zanjabil, and a fountain called Salsabil (a spring in Paradise). 
Around them will (serve) boys of perpetual youth. If you see them, you 
would think they are scattered pearls. When you look there (in Paradise)
 you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a Great Dominion.
 Their garments will be of fine green silk and gold embroidery. They 
will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a
 pure drink. (Al-Insan 76:12-21)</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">The earliest known story of the universe begins with the concept of 
prayer—the story of the residents of Paradise. When Allah created Adam 
(peace be upon him), all beings were asked to prostrate to him, not as a
 form of worship, but to recognize the beauty fashioned by the Creator. <i>Iblis</i> (Satan) refused and the outcome was eternity in hellfire.</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">As life on earth progressed God brought forth Prophets to deliver a 
message; a message of worship. Performing prayer can be traced to the 
earliest of generations beginning with the blessed Prophet Ibrahim 
(peace be upon him).</span></h4>
<h4 style="padding-left: 30px; padding-right: 30px; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;"> My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication. (Ibrahim 14:40)</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">As we dig deeper into the Qur’an we encounter many instances where prayer is mandatory upon the Prophets and their people.</span></h4>
<h4 style="padding-left: 30px; padding-right: 30px; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;"> Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance. (Ta-Ha 20:14)</span></h4>
<h4 style="padding-left: 30px; padding-right: 30px; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;"> And establish prayer and give <i>zakat</i> and bow with those who bow (in worship and obedience). (Al-Baqarah 2:43)</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">As I sit among peers and the clock winds down for prayer, I slyly 
wander off to an empty room to fulfill my duty to my Creator, careful 
not to offend those who choose to ignore this obligation. The reasoning 
is ridiculous. The act of worship is a form of da`wah (invitation).</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">This should not be something I am afraid to do and have to hide or 
feel uncomfortable sharing; rather, it should be something enjoined 
together and encouraged, a journey to purification in tandem. But why is
 it that as I leave the room to go pray, I find myself feeling guilty, 
or awkward, for telling my Muslim friends that I am performing salah 
while they choose to sit idly? This taboo of praying is something that 
needs to be rectified.</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">As a convert, this seems bewildering. To have a Muslim choose not to 
pray seems oxymoronic and unconventional. Islam conveys the consequences
 of not, and the benefits of praying very clearly. Every salah prayed 
counts towards good deeds on the Day of Judgment. We have been told 
there will be instances when those who have prayed, but their good deeds
 do not outweigh the bad, will wind up in hellfire. Once their term is 
served, they will be granted Jannah.</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">The Prophet (peace be upon him) describes the Hereafter, and in which he says:</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">“…When Allah has finished judging mankind, and wants to bring 
whomever He wills out of Hell by His Mercy, He will order angels to 
bring forth those upon whom He wishes to bestow His mercy of the people 
who never associated anything in worship with Allah, and who said, ‘<i>Laa ilaaha illaah Allah</i>’. The angels will recognize them in Hell, and will know them by the mark of <i>sujud</i> (prostration) on their foreheads. The Fire will consume all of a man except the mark of <i>sujud </i>which
 Allah has forbidden the Fire to consume. They will be brought forth, 
having been burned in the Fire, the water of life will be poured on 
them, and they will grow like seeds left by still after a flood.” (Sahih
 Muslim)</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">Let’s try to fathom this concept. <i>Salah</i> will distinguish the devout from the non-believer in hellfire.</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">What is between Belief and Disbelief is Leaving Prayer</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">Rarely do we glimpse a follower of another religion devote his entire
 being to the worship of his Lord prior to, or in addition to, 
supplication. Prayer in Islam envelopes both mind and body to the sole 
worship of God; glorifying Him, praising Him, exalting the Benevolent. 
This form of worship differs from other religions in the sense that 
other religions use supplication as the sole act of worship, whereas for
 Muslims, they serve two completely different purposes.</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">In modern day society, the pressures facing the <i>Ummah</i> (Muslim community) are great; however, the remedy can be just as simple—by keeping steadfast in the daily prayers and having <i>tawakkul </i>(reliance
 on God), we make ourselves vulnerable to Allah’s help and mercy. We all
 have an inherent thirst, a thirst for feeling whole, complete, 
accepted. A thirst quenched by prayer. The Creator can give and He can 
take. The more we rely on Him, the easier our lives become. The further 
we go from Him, the further He goes from us, too.</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">Abu Hurairah (may God have mercy on him) reported that the Messenger 
of Allah said: ”The nearest a servant comes to his Lord is when he is 
prostrating himself, so make supplication (in this state).” (Al-Bukhari)</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">For our<i> iman </i>(faith) to grow, we need the proper 
infrastructure. Buildings use pillars to support their structure. Growth
 is weak without a solid foundation. Salah is the second pillar in 
Islam, the foundation of the religion. There are five pillars in Islam 
which a Muslim considers the basis of faith: <i>Shahadah</i> (testimony of faith), salah, <i>zakat</i> (charity tax), <i>sawm</i> (fasting), and <i>hajj </i>(pilgrimage). If a person is ill, he/she is excused from fasting; if a person is poor, he/she is excused from paying <i>zakat</i> or performing hajj; however, there is no excuse for <i>salah</i>
 (aside from the monthly impurities women face). If a person is sick, he
 may pray sitting down. If he cannot do so, then he may pray lying down,
 if that is impossible, then he may pray with his eyes. Case in point, 
no excuses.</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">Allah has commanded us to indulge in the purification of our souls. 
The modern day focus lies on perfecting the physical appearance; 
whereas, the Islamic perspective is rooted in perfecting the inward 
appearance. Insha’Allah (God willing), we take a few minutes out of our 
day to hurry to success and thank the Almighty, to ask from the 
Almighty, and to worship the Almighty.</span></h4>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-weight: normal;">May we uphold His decree to the best of our abilities and be rewarded with <i>Jannah</i>.</span></h4>

Sidhartha, a Hindu boy, is now 14 and he is blind since his birth. He performs the Muslim Prayer <i>(Namaz)</i> since his early childhood and performs all actions of prayer like an observant Muslim who reads daily prayer regularly though he cannot see at all.</div>

prayer. Whenever he hears the Adhan; the call for prayer in the mosque, 
he makes <i>wudu’</i> (ablution) and washes his, face, both hands, and wipes the head with his wet hands and stands for the prayer.</div>

His father’s name is Virendra Sharma, and his mother is Nidhi Shrma. According to them, Danish was determined to observe the fasting of Ramadan but his mother did not allow him to fast because Siddhartha was too young to fast the whole day; from dawn to sunset.</div>

The child began performing prayer when he was only four years old. It
 was said that once he was brought to a Gurudwara, the temple of Sikhs, 
and there was a Masjid beside the temple and Danish heard the voice of Adhan for the first time in his life and since then he began doing the actions of prayer.</div>
